Welcome back to our Blog Hop with our Friends of S.U.B.A. (Stampin’ Up! Business Angels), sharing our inspiration round the globe with fellow Demonstrators.

Last week I enjoyed a relaxing cuppa and long overdue catch up with a dear friend. She introduced me to the Blackberry Tearooms at Centre Paws, a local dog walking escape, set in over 20 acres of farmland, featuring including camping, farm walks, training & agility centre, dog grooming and much more.

The proprietor and I had a lovely chat and are now looking to run some paper crafting events with a ‘doggy’ theme.

Happy Tails

Inspiration comes in many forms. Today I was thinking of other nice places where people walk their dogs. The Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper was perfect for my background, to create a seaside and beach feel.

Starting with the Night of Navy base card, I cut mat layers of Whisper White card and DSP above.

Next, I stamped dog image and dog kennel from Happy Tails stamp set using Soft Suede ink pad onto Crumb Cake card. I used Night of Navy ink pad to stamp the dog collar on this card. Stampin’ Up! have included a co-ordinating Dog Builder punch.

Sadly no punch for the dog kennel so I cut by hand, using my Paper Snips. To make the inside look darker, I added a very small piece of Soft Suede card behind the opening on Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut a Stitched Rectangle Die in Whisper White card. For a quick crafty tip, think about cutting this from your middle mat layer before attaching !

For the background, I used Watercolour Pencil Assortment Two to lightly colour the sky in Night of Navy and grass in Granny Apple Green. I love my Aqua Painter to blend watercolour pencils.

I added grass and seagulls from two additional stamp sets I love, High Tide and Sailing Home.

My second card is very similar, just using a different combination. I added the beach effect by cutting a piece of sandpaper to the same width and tearing lengthwise in two strips. The top layer will not attach to the rough sand very well, therefore I chose to use Mini Glue Dots 103683 to secure. This also gave a very slight dimension too.

I used Stitched Shape Dies and Layering Circles Dies for the sentiment, cutting off one edge to attach flush with the edge of my layers.

For the ‘dog lead’ I cut a length of Braided linen Trim and attached using Mini Glue Dots.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have enjoyed seeing my project today and have fun hopping round the rest of my Demonstrator friends below, to see the inspiration they have to share with you today.
