Sketch Challenge ideas are such a wonderful inspiration !
I love creating from a sketch challenge, because they can provide inspiration in the form of a ‘blank canvas’. I’m sure you will see a variety of ideas throughout the Sketch Challenge ‘hop’ today.
Gilding Flakes Background
Planning my Sketch Challenge project today, I shared this Gilding Flake idea on my regular Sunday evening Facebook Live. I showed all four of the Basic Pattern Decorative Masks #150697 in the Annual Catalogue, sharing that we can look forward to an additional pack of four designs in the upcoming 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue in a few weeks time.
My base card uses our Very Vanilla Note Cards & Envelopes #144236, adding mat layers of Basic Black #121688 and Very Vanilla #106550 card.
Additional accent detail use Layering Circles Dies #151770 in Real Red card #106578 and Basic Black #121688. together with a Real Red panel from our Regals 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper #155227. The pattern is one of the new design prints from our upcoming 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue.
How I use my ‘Glimmer Flakes’
Glimmer Flakes were such a fabulous addition to our Stampin’ Up! products in the January to June 2021 Mini Catalogue.
You will here many people advise to tip the tub contents into a large plastic tub with lid, as the contents will expand. There are several reasons why I prefer my ‘cleaner’ method. which I explain on my ‘Lives’.
The mask from Basic Patterns Decorative Masks #150697, was taped down over a panel of Very Vanilla cardstock #106550. Inking my Blending Brush #153611 with Versamark Ink Pad #102283, I gently massaging in circular motion both clockwise and anti-clockwise.
After removing the mask, sprinkle with Heat & Stick Powder #156110 and melting with Heat Tool #129054 (UK plug).
The metallic Gilding Flakes #154560 were pressed over the ‘glue like’ sticky pattern, brushing away excess back over the tub.
Sentiment from Itty Bitty Christmas #150513, carefully inking only the top line of the stamp with Versamark. I repeated the process above, this time using Gold Embossing powder #109129.
I hope you have enjoyed my project today. Be sure to click through the list below and view all the gorgeous projects, from my Stampin’ Up! colleagues, starting with Leighsha. Have fun ‘hopping’ around the globe for more inspiration, and I hope to see you safely back here again soon.
