Hello and Welcome to our Crafty Blog Hop ‘Technique Tuesday’, all sharing our Watercolouring Techniques.

Today, our talented group of Global Demonstrators, are bringing you lots of gorgeous Watercolour ideas and inspiration.

If you have just joined me from Kim’s Blog or as one of my followers, a big warm English welcome to you. My share today features one of the first products I purchased from the January to June Mini Catalogue, which launched today.

Dragonfly Garden stamp & punch bundle

I started by stamping some large Dragonflies on Thick White cardstock #140490, using Memento Black Ink Pad and set aside.

My technique today, mixes a drop of Frost White Shimmer Paint #147046 and Night of Navy Ink Refill on a tile. You could also use a piece of acetate, small dish or laminated Grid Sheet.

I had to just share the photo below as the inks decided to spread before I started mixing … a lovely natural pattern forming, don’t you think?

I found I needed to squeeze my Water Painter #151298 to dilute the Shimmer paint and ink refill, to lighten the colour, until I created a shade nearer to the Misty Moonlight (refill in this shade will be available later).

Add Shimmer to everything ….

I love the effect that our Shimmer paints add to projects. Once my painting was all finished, I took the Dragonfly Punch from the bundle and punched out two of my painted images.

I’m really pleased how the camera caught this close up of the shimmer on the Dragonfly wings.

Smaller dragonflies from the stamp set were stamp diagonally through my white layer. A strip of Dandy Garden Designer Series Paper #154297 was added to the left.

To finish my card, I stamped my sentiment from the stamp set using Misty Moonlight Classic Stampin’ Pad #153118, stamping sentiment onto a strip of Thick Whisper White card. The ends were punched using the Lovely Labels Pick-A-Punch #152883 and a couple of Rhinestone Basic Jewels #144220 on each end.
